Overview

Email Marketing Manager is responsible for all aspects of the email channel – collaboration contact strategies, create, and manage campaigns including personalization, scheduling, list management, transactional triggering, strategic content creation and analysis of data & reporting. Implementing email strategies and tactics that support company objectives to drive top-line sales, customer acquisition, retention, reactivation, and marketing automation email campaigns to the contract business field.

This is a cross functional position, working closely with marketing, creative, legal, the tech teams, merchandising, and IT throughout the organization.

Day-to-day responsibilities will be focused on working in our ESP (email service provider) and coordinating with various cross-functional teams to see the email production & execution process through from start to finish. This person will be the expert in leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud, initially; and Adobe Marketo when we transition to drive the program forward, and will be the go-to person for all automation and data-related initiatives related to email.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational implementation of email communication for promotional, acquisition, retention, penetration, upsell, marketing, etc.
  • Conceptualizing marketing campaigns that speak directly to the pain points of existing and prospective clientele.
  • Work with the tech team, copywriters, and graphic designers to develop and implement email content strategy.
  • Conduct A/B testing to continually provide detailed reports of findings and implement learnings for optimization.
  • Work with various stakeholders to set up segmentation to ensure the alignment or campaigns to target audiences are correct.
  • Work with Tech team to maintain a database of customers who have opted to receive our correspondence.
  • Assist in deploying & reporting on A/B and multivariate tests and optimization efforts.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal and external cross-functional teams for all email triggers/automations.

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field

·       7+ years’ experience.  Note: Experience working in the B2B space preferred

  • Prior experience working in Adobe Marketo & Sales Marketing Cloud
  • Prior experience working in analytics software, such as Google Analytics and awareness of GA4
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate skill using Excel
  • Basic understanding of HTML
  • Strong understanding of Email Marketing best practices
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications, processes, tools, and systems
  • Must be comfortable communicating professionally with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at various levels. 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage several projects at once – staying flexible to pivot as business needs change at a moment’s notice 
  • Experience working with triggered and automated email campaigns a plus
  • Operating in the Marketo Environment and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (our email tool currently) preferred.

  • Email Marketing Manager is technology driven.  Marketing campaigns from scratch, planning, developing Newsletters, acquisition, retention, promotional products. 
  • Campaigns to our customers to offer services, products, solutions – acquiring new customers and retention of current customers.
  • Long-term journey – multiple emails within journey.  Bring back customers/targeted to larger universes not individuals.
