As an internal audit intern, you will learn the fundamentals of auditing through training and working one on one with members of the ODP Internal Audit team.

You will gain basic understanding of the risk and controls environment of a publicly traded company. You will gain exposure to our team’s methodology and work programs as it pertains to Internal Controls testing for several key business processes of the Company. You will learn how to communicate with clients, participate in meetings, apply classes on accounting and auditing to real-life experience, understand how a large corporation operates.

Internship Period

Summer 2021 (full time) with possible part-time extension until the end of the year (upon mutual agreement). The team is flexible with school’s end/beginning of semester dates.

Responsibilities

· Participate and document business process and controls walkthroughs

· Perform SOX control testing to support the interim testing phase (organize, examine, and analyze data, document testing procedures in standard work papers and draw conclusions based on testing results)

· Identify process and/or control gaps; document any exceptions to the process and identify any improvement opportunities

· Communicate testing results to supervisors

Qualifications

Successful candidates should align with the following:

· Junior, Graduating Senior or Graduate Student

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

· Problem solving and time management skills

· Detail oriented and committed to deliver quality work

· Self-motivated and proactive team player

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

· Ability to operate independently without close supervision

· Professional demeanor, good work ethic

· Excellent organization skills

Education and prior experience

· Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or a Master of Science in Accounting

· Good knowledge of accounting concepts and theory

· Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2. Minimum accounting GPA of 3.0 (if applicable)

· Technical competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Knowledge of IT applications and /or data analytics is a plus

· Prior relevant work experience (data analytics, audit, finance, etc.) or past internships is a plus

A successful intern may be considered for a full-time position upon graduation, subject to performance and open position
