As a Sr. Lead UX Designer of Design Systems, you will drive the creation and governance of the design systems our technology is built upon. You’ll lead the creative direction, requirements gathering across teams, collaboration with engineering, and continuous testing and adoption of the system across the appropriate development teams. You'll be a part of a centralized customer experience team and shepherd best practices for a cross-functional team of software developers and product leaders.


What You’ll Do:

Strategic Design Decisioning: Partner with UX leadership to establish goals and strategy for design systems in action.
Asset Development and Production: Partner with agile team and other designers to produce all necessary artifacts to construct the components and templates for the design system including creating an accessibility experience for all.
Facilitation Techniques: Facilitate and operationalize formal and informal techniques for diverging and converging on problems and solutions that can be solved in the design system.
Research Methodologies: Independently partner with research experts and end users directly, beyond useability testing. Use data and research methodologies to improve the customer experience through the system and its best application.
Tool Mastery: Use our system of Figma and Storybook as well as other tools as needed, as well as mentor others designers is proper use of the tools published by the design system.


Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Design or technical spaces such as: Design, Fine Arts, Computer Science/Engineering. or equivalent experience
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience web and mobile UX design with at least 2 specifically in design systems
Technical Competencies: Extensive experience in research and interaction design techniques and mastery of design tools to demonstrate interactions, proper use, and accessibility.
Skills and Ability: A solid command of these skills will allow you to be successful in this role:

Phillip Rumpf

Retail District Sales Manager

Meet Phillip Rumpf, our Retail District Sales Manager in the Salt Lake City UT market. Phillip has been with Office Depot for 5 years now, and in that time, he has quickly advanced through our stores organization as a Customer Service Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and now as District Sales Manager.

The path to his current position has been challenging and rewarding and his leadership took the opportunity to develop him and encourage his ambitions along the way. As a Store Manager, Phillip was identified as a high potential leader and was selected for our “Blue Angels” program for leadership development which led to his current DSM role.
