Overview

The Principal Consultant BSD Field Sales Training will be a senior leader and driving force behind the development of training and the deployment infrastructure to deliver content related to the Contract Sales Organization. This individual will be responsible for initiatives inclusive of development of associate skills and technical training, management leadership and competency development. He/she will drive world-class sales training programs and develop a fully integrated sales training curriculum to ensure full development of the sales teams. This individual will ensure new hire’s in contract selling roles are onboarded efficiently and effectively to move them to a profit center as quickly as possible. This role is pivotal to ensuring long-term sustainable financial growth within Contract Sales, while supporting Company growth initiatives. Knowledge of the company, its clients and business strategy are all key, as these will be taken into consideration when establishing the training and performance programs. Designed with leadership, management, business and personal progression and best practice in mind, the intention is to expand on the talents and skills across all employees at all levels within an organization. Embracing different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, tutorial sessions or coaching while working closely with various leaders across the organization and having a full understanding of their units and training requirements. This role will partner closely with Corporate L and D in order to leverage their expertise in content development.


Primary Responsibilities

1. Defines, the go-to market training strategies that support BSDs objectives and develops those strategies through facilitation of program deployment; collaborating closely with all sales, sales leaders as an advisor and subject matter expert.
2. Develop, lead and evaluate their team utilizing career pathing, training and coaching. Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
3. Creates and executes training initiatives to improve the ability of sales reps and managers to execute standard sales processes and methodologies by acting as the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans.


Education & Experience

Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Area of Study: Training and Development
Years of Experience: Minimum 10 year experience in related field
Type of Experience: Ten plus years of training & development experience, preferably in a sales organization. A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a team of learning and development professionals preferred. Field Sales Management experience (preferably within Office Depot) preferred.
Special Certifications:
(CPA, Etc.) • 
Language Skills: • English
Technical Competencies: • Experience with ELMS systems and e-learning content design. Certifications in personality/behavioral programs, Change Management and Leadership Development a plus
• Microsoft Office suite, e-learning creation tools, Instructor led creation tools, SalesForce.com, CRM systems
Skills and Ability: • Demonstrated ability to identify, facilitate and deliver hands-on associate and leadership development curriculum.
• Ability to integrate talent staffing opportunities with training solutions.
• Strong Training and Development background.
• Demonstrable understanding of adult learning behaviors.
• Ability to establish and maintain highly effective relationships from all levels of an organization.
• Ability to effectively influence without authority.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable, measurable tasks.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing environments.
• Solid presentation and facilitation skills
• Capability to drive success and manage a highly effective training team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
• Highly skilled facilitator and negotiator with a keen eye for detail.
