Overview

The Sr. Analyst, International Transportation is responsible for supporting the International Transportation team, providing support for outsourced transportation providers as required. Specific responsibilities include day-to-day support with 3PL/ocean and drayage carriers including the review and approval of payments for services. Assisting with special projects within the department to support business needs.  Provides individual support to any group member as needed. Works with internal groups such as supply chain, merchandising, inventory management and IT to facilitate special buys, back-to-school, year-end program buys, and system enhancements as needed.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
1. Ocean Management:  space requests / escalation, in-land rail monitoring / (ERS) requests, contingency management
 
2. Drayage Management: mitigating demurrage / per diem / bob tail cost, contingency management of which includes damaged trailers, containers, chassis, and / or broken seals
 
3. Daily deconsolidation facility operations for both east and west coasts; inbound and outbound flow management, OS&D, contingency management, ad hoc projects / requests 
 
4. Inventory Management / Quality Assurance / Supply Chain Field + Facility Support: tracking and tracing, training, ad hoc requests
 
 
5. Asia Consolidation Plans / Exception Reports
 
6. Distribution of inbound forecasts / market updates / ad hoc requests
 
7. Direct Import Vendor Lead Time and Replenishment Schedule set up requests
 
Secondary Responsibility: Invoice Management
 
1. Freight Auditing Management and oversight: EDI errors / exception que resolution
2. Vendor billing management / resolutions 5%
3. Manual invoice auditing (per diem, demurrage, special projects, airfreight)
4. Monthly PO Closing: OS&D report / discrepancy research and resolution
5. Ad hoc reporting / User Set-up with internal systems
 
 
Education & Experience
Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Area of Study: Transportation, Logistics, Warehouse Supervisor or Supply Chain analytics.
Years of Experience: Minimum 4 years in transportation or related field
Type of Experience: International and domestic transportation, Supply Chain related field
Special Certifications: 
(CPA, Etc.) Multi tasker, organized, analytical
Language Skills: Fluent in English both verbally and in the written word
Technical Competencies: Transportation Management Systems
Microsoft Office
Skills and Ability: Computer and software skills
Ability to analyze data/information and make appropriate recommendations
Requires interpretation and determines the proper course of action for variety of situations
Multi-tasking and managing deadlines
Accountable for actions and work with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent negotiating skills to deal with diverse personalities
Ability to travel
