Overview
The DSM position provides expertise, strategic direction, and executes initiatives to drive sales within the BSD Sales organization. The DSM position is responsible for implementing sales strategy and leading a team of sales representatives to achieve revenue and profit objectives. The DSM will manage a team of sales representatives in various sales roles that will cover the entire DSM geographic area. The position works closely with solutions partners to ensure customer requirements are communicated effectively and appropriate pricing models are deployed; works closely with BSD leadership team to complement sales strategies. This position will realize sales, gross margin, and market share goals by leveraging Office Depot’s competitive advantage and supporting the company’s vision.
Primary Responsibility:
1. Responsible for growing profitable revenues within the business-to-business market. The District Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining business partnerships with small, medium and large-sized companies. Develops district sales plans and territories. Assists with developing annual sales goals.
2. The District Sales Manager is responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing sales representatives and support staff. Recruits and trains sales associates. Ensures selling skills for all sales associates are consistent and continually improved upon, and that the sales and margin objectives are met. The District Sales Manager takes a lead role in identifying the critical success factors that will help motivate and guide all sales associates in their daily activities.
3. Ensure that internal and external customers receive the highest level of satisfaction that can be provided. Instills a customer satisfaction-oriented philosophy within the sales associate team. Ensure that all of the needs of our clients are uncovered and met through the account penetration skills of the sales associates.
4. Responsible for strategies to drive revenues across all channels. Effectively communicates how to identify and develop our target accounts through the organizational and presentation skills of the sales associates.
5. Develops and implement systems and processes to optimize sales strategies and tactics. Reviews and leverages weekly sales to goal reports to drive performance. Conduct quarterly performance reviews with direct reports.
6. Assists BSD Sales associates on calls to new or major accounts.
Skills
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or related experience required plus a minimum of 7 years experience in related field.
