As a Director, you will be an integral team member of The ODP Corporation’s innovative Product & Technology (P&T) organization, contributing greatly to this pivotal transformation in the B2B space.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and execute product and service offerings on our business platforms, with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience, driving increased transactions, and achievement of corporate objectives. 
  • Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for our product and service offerings that outline key functional capabilities to be invested and pursued that maximize sales and customer experience. 
  • Work cross-functionally in a matrixed team environment within P&T; Technology, Infrastructure and Engineering (TIE); Digital Marketing; core business teams; and our global platforms leadership team to deliver and share results.
  • Build and develop talent, creating an innovative culture while forming a team of software development engineers, technical product managers, and technical program managers. Inclusive but not limited to interview and selection, coaching, communications, performance management and development planning.
  • Interact with executive level management requiring negotiation of significant matters to identify key issues and relationships relevant to cost estimates for current and proposed projects impacting our platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, eCommerce, or business-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of related work experience. 10 years in a managerial role, 10+ years of diversified experience in software development, eMarketing, eMerchandising and Information Technology field and leading/managing eCommerce team. Retail eCommerce experience is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Superior analytical skills; must be analytically capable of refining strategic, technical roadmaps, problem solving, and synthesizing to make improvements and recommendations. Relies on scientific findings in decision making, establishes relevant KPIs and routinely tracks them.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; regularly required to make presentations to stakeholders, and must clearly present, articulate, and have the courage to defend findings and design decisions, formulated strategies to the stakeholders in a way that they can relate to and easily understand.
  • Interpersonal/People Skills: Ability to facilitate smooth collaboration and relations necessary to be successful in this role; not troubled by complications, disagreements, and unnecessary delays. Ability to build trust among team members and convince people to follow him/her. Effective presentation skills. Exceptional relationship-building skills are required.
  • Leadership Qualities: Ability to continuously drive results, display a high level of confidence not just in self but in other people as well, inspire and motivate team performance.  Demonstrate an ability to navigate complex situations and tasks with calmness and composure, setting an example for others. Ability to identify, attract, and develop team talent.
  • Building Effective Teams: Define success in terms of the whole team; create strong morale, a sense of belonging, and spirit in the team. Provide mentorship & coaching to nurture developing talent.

Retail District Sales Manager

Meet Phillip Rumpf, our Retail District Sales Manager in the Salt Lake City UT market. Phillip has been with Office Depot for 5 years now, and in that time, he has quickly advanced through our stores organization as a Customer Service Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and now as District Sales Manager.

The path to his current position has been challenging and rewarding and his leadership took the opportunity to develop him and encourage his ambitions along the way. As a Store Manager, Phillip was identified as a high potential leader and was selected for our “Blue Angels” program for leadership development which led to his current DSM role.
