Overview

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for processing payroll for an assigned group of locations comprised of 32k associates in 1,100 locations across 49 states and Puerto Rico with an annual payroll of $1billion. 
  • Ensures that employees are paid and financial information is recorded in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner. 
  • Provides customer service by researching and resolving payroll inquiries and discrepancies for all North American associates via telephone, ACD line, email and face to face inquiries. 
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all Office Depot employees HR and Payroll related records. 
  • Responsible for the processing of active garnishments, the review and interpretation and execution of new garnishments received from courts, government agencies and attorneys.
  • Responsible for filing and remitting of tax withholding payments, unemployment and workers compensation reports for 49 states, 100+ localities and Puerto Rico. 
  • Analyzes associate tax data to ensure all associates records are recorded with the accurate state and local taxes according to where they live and work. 
  • Accountable for timely reporting and processing tax payments in excess of $265 million dollars for various filing and payment frequencies. 
  • Accountable for substantial financial risk and assessment to the company for non-compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with processing payroll in Oracle is required.
  • Associates Degree and 2 years’ experience in related field required
  • Additional training and education in payroll garnishment and payroll taxation preferred
