As a Sr. Director, you will be an integral team member of The ODP Corporation’s innovative Product & Technology (P&T) organization, contributing greatly to this pivotal transformation in the B2B space.

What You’ll Do

As member of the Product & Technology leadership team, you’ll be responsible for the planning, execution and customer experience for our product and service offerings on our consumer and business platforms. Drive increased transactions, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and achieve corporate objectives.

You’re an ideal candidate for this position you’ve led a technology or product organization and have had success managing e-commerce business initiatives from conception to implementation to delivery with quantifiable results of success.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for our product and service offerings that outlines key functional capabilities to be invested and pursued that maximize sales and customer experience.  Work cross-functionally in a matrix team environment with IT, digital marketing, and our global platforms leadership team to deliver and share results.
  • Design, develop and implement the strategic roadmap for our product and service offerings that outlines key functional capabilities to be invested and pursued that maximize sales and customer experience.
  • Deliver an optimal customer experience across multiple platforms by partnering cross-functionally with our UX, eCommerce, Marketing, IT and Merchandising teams.
  • Own the design and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive increased transactions and sales across multiple platforms.
  • Build, develop and grow multiple teams within your organization, inclusive but not limited to interview and selection, coaching, performance management and development planning.
  • Interact internally with executive level management. Negotiate significant matters to identify key issues and relationships relevant to cost estimates for current and proposed projects impacting our platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, eCommerce or a business-related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience is required. Also required is 10 years in a managerial role, 10+ years of experience in eMarketing, eMerchandising and Information Technology field and leading/managing eCommerce team. Retail eCommerce experience a plus.
  • Experience delivering functionality from concept to deployment. Leverage mobile, social, and other rich media applications to build web solutions that delight customers.

A solid command of these skills and abilities will allow you to be successful in this role:

  • Analytical Skills: refine strategic, technical roadmaps and synthesize them to make improvements and recommendations. Rely on scientific findings in decision making, establish and track relevant KPIs.
  • Communication Skills: demonstrate solid verbal and written communication skills, while presenting regularly to stakeholders. Clearly present, articulate, and defend research findings, design decisions, and formulated strategies to the stakeholders in a way that they can relate to and easily understand.
  • Interpersonal/People Skills: facilitate smooth collaboration and relations. Be undeterred by complications, disagreements, and unnecessary delays. Ability to build trust among team members and persuade others to follow in the direction set forth.
  • Leadership Qualities: Continuously drive results. Display a high level of confidence not just in self but in other people as well. Inspire and motivate team performance. Demonstrate an ability to navigate complex situations and tasks with calmness and composure, setting an example for others. Ability to identify, attract, and develop team talent.

Retail District Sales Manager

Meet Phillip Rumpf, our Retail District Sales Manager in the Salt Lake City UT market. Phillip has been with Office Depot for 5 years now, and in that time, he has quickly advanced through our stores organization as a Customer Service Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and now as District Sales Manager.

The path to his current position has been challenging and rewarding and his leadership took the opportunity to develop him and encourage his ambitions along the way. As a Store Manager, Phillip was identified as a high potential leader and was selected for our “Blue Angels” program for leadership development which led to his current DSM role.
