Sr. Manager of Program Marketing Job Summary

Office Depot is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead the technical direction for a company-wide Marketing initiative to broaden our business reporting and technology. As a TPM, you would collaborate with internal stakeholders across business and Information Systems to design and launch Marketing solutions and tools.

As a Technical Project Manager on this team, you will be responsible for driving strategy and engaging with launch partners to deliver projects from end-to-end. You will be a key player in strategic planning, technical design, project execution, and launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, diving deep into the Marketing solutions, collaborating with architects and stake holder leaderships, and drive the teams to launch.
  • Make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from design to launch.
  • Must thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities.
  • Develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but also be willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
  • Design and anticipate technical and scheduling bottlenecks and provide escalation management.
  • Anticipate and make necessary tradeoffs to balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry.
  • 8+ years of experience with current Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence technologies.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience managing efforts in Teradata, Oracle, ERP environments.
  • Experience designing and developing large scale software in an Agile environment.
  • Possess a strong technical program management background.
  • Possess a well-rounded technical background in current Data Warehouse, Web and Marketing technologies.

 

Other Information:

  • Must have the ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise and to work with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Must be able to deal with ambiguity and a changing environment, as well as a rapid work pace.
  • Must have proven track record of being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects.
  • Possess fluency and comfort with business applications such as Word, Excel and MS Project.
  • Project management, Process Improvement or Quality certifications required (e.g. PMP, Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Possess maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.
