As a Principal TPM, you will be an integral team member of The ODP Corporation’s innovative Product & Technology organization, contributing greatly to this pivotal transformation in the B2B space. Lead programs that span multiple organizations within The ODP Corporation, deliver successful technology solutions that achieve program objectives and delight our B2B customers.

What You'll Do

  1. Manage a program space, including defining program goals and objectives, breaking down the program into executable projects, and building a multi-year program roadmap.
  2. Define and build the end-to-end technology solution; lead cross-functional teams on requirements, system designs, user experience designs, implementation, testing, and feature launches following an Agile development process. 
  3. Ensure projects run efficiently. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, manage and resolve issues, and remove barriers slowing teams down.
  4. Manage and communicate status to stakeholders, including The ODP Corporation's executive leaders.
  5. Collaborate with leadership and other program leads to align priorities and sequence efforts across projects for efficiency and customer impact. 
  6. Contribute to improving the TPM practice at The ODP Corporation by sharing experiences, defining best practices, and mentoring others.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10-15+ total years of experience in a related field. 10+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects. 7+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle and system design, translating functional and non-functional requirements to system requirements, and Agile methodology
  • Program Management: ability to define and manage program objectives, break down large, complex programs into clearly defined projects, and sequence projects into a multi-year roadmap that achieves program objectives. 
  • Project Management: ability to perform high-level estimation, break down projects into Epics and User Stories across multiple engineering teams, work with teams to deliver incrementally following Agile practices, manage dependencies, identify and mitigate risks and issues, and provide updates on status.
  • Technical Skills: the ability to do technical software design across multiple developments teams and organizations. Must be able to negotiate and solve technical issues spanning multiple engineering teams and disciplines. 
  • Interpersonal/People Skills: the ability to build trust with cross-functional team members, facilitate collaboration, and build relationships are necessary to be successful in this role. You should not be troubled by disagreements and be able to apply different strategies to work through them. 
  • Leadership Qualities: Ability to continuously drive results, display a high level of confidence not just in self but in other people as well, inspire and motivate team performance.  Demonstrate an ability to navigate complex situations and tasks with calmness and composure, setting an example for others. Ability to identify, attract, and develop team talent.

Phillip Rumpf

Retail District Sales Manager

Meet Phillip Rumpf, our Retail District Sales Manager in the Salt Lake City UT market. Phillip has been with Office Depot for 5 years now, and in that time, he has quickly advanced through our stores organization as a Customer Service Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and now as District Sales Manager.

The path to his current position has been challenging and rewarding and his leadership took the opportunity to develop him and encourage his ambitions along the way. As a Store Manager, Phillip was identified as a high potential leader and was selected for our “Blue Angels” program for leadership development which led to his current DSM role.
