Overview

Responsible for the strategic leadership, vision and direction of the Collections and Dispute Resolution departments. Manage Contract and Direct/Retail account portfolios exceeding $5 billion in annual revenue and averaging $400M of outstanding receivables. Plan, lead and execute collection strategies in order to increase working capital and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) for the Company. Manages Corporate operations team and team throughout US as well as a large outsourced, offshore team. Plan, and lead continuous improvement efforts including enhancements of the collections system (WebCollect), which improves collections productivity, thereby contributing to the Company's goal of increased cash flow.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Focus on system issues and opportunities with a goal of building continuous process improvement capability while ensuring SOX compliance of collections and dispute resolution functions.
  • Responsible for the strategic leadership, vision and direction of the design and application of the collections and dispute resolution system (Webcollect), which will improve collections productivity and efficiency, thereby contributing to the Company's goal of increased working capital in excess of $5 billion annually and reduced cost structure.
  • Lead multiple departments in the collections of contract and direct/retail portfolios currently totaling $400M of outstanding receivables.
  • Develop and implement revised collection strategies in order to increase working capital and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) for the Company.
  • Govern the activities of the collections and dispute resolution teams (exceeding 125 FTEs) in the US, Guatemala and India, constituting retained, field, and outsourced associates, to ensure maximum working capital and cash flow is achieved.
  • Partners with Shared Services to develop, measure and manage outsourced functions, operational goals and service level agreements.
  • Establish the vision for the Retained Collections department who is responsible for the collection and dispute resolution efforts of the Company's largest and most complex accounts.
  • Work with various departments (including Sales, Pricing, Implementation, E-Commerce, Tax, Customer Service, IT, etc.) to ensure that cash flow is maximized on these portfolios, without forfeiting customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee AR Root Cause Resolution process and streamline Order to Cash (OTC) processes to increase working capital and reduce and/or eliminate upstream process errors in BSD account set up, incorrect tax rates, pricing errors, etc. Provide strategic direction on critical OTC processes, partner with executive leadership in operational business groups (Tax, Customer Service, BSD, eCommerce, etc.). and be a change agent to re-engineer and improve processes, with the end result of improving customer satisfaction, improve working capital / cash flow, and reduce cost structures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in related field
  • Previous Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivables experience preferred
  • Collections, Dispute Resolution, Process Re-engineering, Management, Finance, Project Management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and group facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing about changes in an organization via consensus building and influencing all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent overall business acumen, leadership and organizational savvy.
  • Ability to think, manage and improve work as a system.
  • Ability to coach, teach and develop others as well as manage large-scale change.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • MS Office, Oracle, Advanced Excel skills
  • Patience, flexibility, respect for others, questioning nature, taking responsibility, creative thinking, persistence, and self-motivation.
  • Works both independently and as well as in a team environment.
