This is a 100% Remote position. Work virtually from anywhere in the US.

The Sr. Manager -Test Automation role is in the test automation delivery pillar. The main function of this pillar is to develop and deliver automated test solutions to support Varis (A sub-division of ODP Corporation) for faster and better product quality.

 

 Essential Functions of the Job:

Management of the Varis Test Automation team, which owns the successful launch of the Varis (a subdivision of ODP Corp.) applications.

Create/Assist/Troubleshoot the development and implementation of Test Automation Framework, Standards, Procedures and best practices

Manage the daily/weekly activities of the Test Automation Team, support hiring and onboarding of new team members.

Provide technical guidance and expertise to team members, colleagues, and/or customers

Contribute to program/project review meetings

Determine status, assess problem areas, suggest and review corrective actions,

Maintain and Guide Test Automation Suites Execution and undertake analysis of results to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and technical requirements.

Work with project stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during system development life cycles.

Support upward stakeholder management and day-to-day risk management.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT services, IT solution functions, and customers to expedite delivery of test solutions

Work within quality frameworks to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability

Take responsibility for the integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinate the execution of these activities

Provide authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution

Review requirements and specifications, and define automated test solutions

 

Analytical/Decision-Making Responsibilities: 

Takes a proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options, and where appropriate, leading to resolution

Ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions

Ability to prioritize personal and team workloads to best meet organizational objectives

Empowered to make decisions and recommend approaches based on the results from quality reviews

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Expertise in Creating Test Automation Frameworks with Selenium C#/Java

8+ Years of experience in Agile environment and DevOps

Solid understanding of AWS/Azure CI/CD Pipelines

Expertise in setting up Automation Suites in CI/CD Environment

8+ Years of extensive experience in Selenium/C#/Java.

Experience developing API automated testing solutions using UFT, Selenium, JUnit, Soap UI, TestNG, and JMeter

Ability to determine strategic direction and not just tactical execution

Strong programming and technical experience in this role will require occasional digging into code and interfacing with developers and delivery managers

Knowledge of tools and processes for test results reporting

Experience with testing big enterprise, high-traffic and multi-tier applications using Microsoft Azure or Amazon  Web Services (AWS)

Experience in creating and tracking test metrics.

Experience managing teams of Automation Engineers strongly preferred

Excellent attention to detail, good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Operates fast and delivers within project timelines.

The ability to work and team effectively with other management personnel across geographies

Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations under pressure

Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle including the functional and non-functional test phases

Knowledge of Test Management techniques

Knowledge of Agile and automation processes

Demonstrates the ability to research specific concepts and practices to deepen learning and application skills related to the latest test automation technologies.

Demonstrates a basic understanding of key principles related to Software Development Process Improvement

 

Supervision Responsibilities: 

Provide supervision and direction to team members and staff

Delegate, coach, coordinate, and lead co-workers and project team members

Manage test automation team with responsibility for utilization, assignments and reports to the org Director / Sr. Director.

Direct responsibility for supervising personnel (i.e., set goals, assign work, review performance, and conduct career development discussions)

 

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience

Master’s degree preferred

10-15 years of relevant experience

5 or more years of Management experience

Retail District Sales Manager

Meet Phillip Rumpf, our Retail District Sales Manager in the Salt Lake City UT market. Phillip has been with Office Depot for 5 years now, and in that time, he has quickly advanced through our stores organization as a Customer Service Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and now as District Sales Manager.

The path to his current position has been challenging and rewarding and his leadership took the opportunity to develop him and encourage his ambitions along the way. As a Store Manager, Phillip was identified as a high potential leader and was selected for our “Blue Angels” program for leadership development which led to his current DSM role.
