This position requires a seasoned and visionary software engineering professional to help us drive the Quality Assurance (QA) team.  The Sr Manager, QA role is responsible for building and managing one to many QA teams within the engineering organization. The Sr Manager, QA recruits, mentors, performance managers, and leads multiple teams of quality experts who design and develop effective test plans and strategies, drive test execution, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Sr. Manager, QA possesses solid Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge. Sr. Manager should have the ability and experience to manage both onsite and offshore resources. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

1. Build and manage a team of distributed QA Engineers onsite and offshore 

2. Coordinate with product management, program management, developers, and QA leads to drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability. Define and establish test metrics to measure product quality, quality of testing, and feedback to engineers. 

3. Supporting and enhancing the QA methodologies to ensure delivery of predictable, high-quality product releases. 

4. Partner with DevOps to integrate automated testing with the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) deployment process with GIT, VSTS, and Jira tools. 

5. Manage and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers. 

 

Education & Experience: 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 

Area of Study: Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent 

Years of Experience: 8+ years of experience in software Quality Assurance 5+ years of experience in managing QA team    

Type of Experience: Must have strong expertise in QA, Agile Methodology, CICD, eCommerce 

Technical Competencies: SQL, AS400 knowledge, QA tools like qTest, JIRA 

 

Skills and Ability: 

• 8+ years of IT experience 

• 5+ years of experience in managing of testing eCommerce applications, client server applications, Mobile apps and M-Site applications. 

• Strong leadership and mentoring qualities 

• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met 

• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally 

• Manage and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers 

•• Good knowledge of SDLC processes 

• Good knowledge of Agile methodology 

• Very good communication skills and able to lead others 

• Experience with API testing using postman or eclipse 

• Understanding of Oracle service contracts 

• Basic knowledge of HTML for inspect element 

• AS400 knowledge 

• Ability to write SQL 

• Experience using QA tools like qTest, JIRA, etc. 

• Experience working with onsite offshore teams 

Personal Attributes: 

• Should have strong self-motivation to learn and develop skills to keep up with the industry trends in QA 

• Polished communication skills, collaboration skills, presentation skills and technical leadership skills 

Other/Preferred: 

• Experience with automation and performance testing 

• Adobe CMS tool 

• M-site and Mobile apps testing knowledge.
