Overview

The Manager, Financial Systems is responsible for providing Tier II support services to business users in the Finance area. This encompasses understanding the business requirements to properly document and communicate the design to Information Technology.  They should have an understanding of accounting concepts to assist with design or remediate issues when discovered by the business.  They will work closely with business users and IT support teams to support Oracle EBS and Cloud systems, Cognos reporting solutions and business process definition and improvement.  They are expected to have functional and technical knowledge of the Oracle systems to provide guidance on defect resolution or new functionality design to the business process owners.  They are critical to Oracle upgrades and conversion from Legacy systems into Oracle.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Director level associates for managing resource times and assistance on making decisions for project designs.  Reasoning for decisions have to be clearly communicated with the Director/ Sr. Managers of a department to guide in the decision-making process.  Ability to quickly highlight the impact to the department after attending new project request meetings from the business. Considered as the expert opinion of system topics by the business.
  • Provide guidance to business process owners on functional (MD50) designs or concerns and work with IT to ensure the technical (MD70) designs meet the spirit of the functional design.  Understand the Oracle AIM methodology for system changes and ensure processes are followed by the team members for successful execution.
  • Provide Tier II support to resolve issues related to systems and processes.  Support would require after hours and weekend involvement to problem solve critical defects.
    • Provide troubleshooting support to identify root cause of reported issues.
    • Provide documentation to clarify issues and solutions in help desk incident tracking software (HP Quality Center Experience and Sharepoint preferred).
    • Assist IT Production Support team members with troubleshooting, analyzing, testing and resolving end user issues.
    • Take accountability to bring an issue to final resolution.
  • Provide analysis to assist end users in understanding the cause of the system issue or the breakdown or absence of the necessary business processes.
  • Recommend methods to improve processes and system operations.  Suggest best practice changes to business operations.
  • Provide training support to end users where there is a lack of understanding of how the current process works or how the system is configured to work.
  • Work with the testing planning and execution teams to design and deliver successful testing for defects and change requests. Document and execute on test plans for SIT (System Integration Testing) and UAT (user acceptance testing).

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Oracle Fusion, ERP, Cloud functionality
  • Background in Accounting or knowledge of accounting systems
  • 1-5 years’ experience with Oracle EBS package modules including Cloud, experience with Cognos Reporting Tool strongly preferred
  • At least 1 full cycle ERP implementation experience preferred
  • 3-7 years supporting Oracle financial modules that are highly interfaced to outside systems
  • 3-7 years’ experience with Oracle AIM methodology that includes gathering business requirements (BR030), designing business process flow diagrams (BP080/090), creating functional design documentation (MD050), and confirming technical design documents (MD070)
  • 3-7 years’ experience with key business processes for large corporate retail with Legacy systems (high volume transactions, etc.)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Proficient in problem solving, requirements gathering, analysis and documentation
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written language skills
  • Report development / Data warehouse integration (Terradata) experience a plus
  • Oracle Release 12 experience a plus
