Supply Planner

Overview

The Supply Planner is responsible for supporting the Inventory Management Team on critical functions that will enable product to be ordered and arrive in the right place at the right time. This would entail owning and distributing key business reporting to the team that will help in analyzing the performance of the business. This individual will be responsible for purchase order tracking and follow-up with our suppliers and internal business partners to ensure product is arriving on-time. This role will own managing and filling business channel product request and customer service inquiries.  The activities of this role will be critical to help support and achieve our goals around inventory levels, inventory turns, and service levels across our retail stores and distribution centers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting Inventory Management Team on key functions around reporting for business performance analytics
• Responsible for purchase order tracking to ensure product is shipping and arriving on-time
• Support Inventory Management Team on key functions around answering and filling retail and customer service inquiries and requests
• Support Inventory Management team on the functions of Developing, executing and communicating inventory buys and forecasts that support the merchandising, marketing and financial objectives and strategies of a division/category
• Support Inventory Management Team on Developing and executing seasonal projections and commitments
• Support Inventory Management Team on Driving financial results through service and quality inventory management that maximize sales, inventory and bottom line profitability resulting in gross margin return on investment (GMROI) and inventory turn goals
• Support Inventory Management Team on Analyzing historical data, productivity, and current trends to identify risks and opportunities
• Support Inventory Management Team on actively evaluating business results, creating action steps and recommendations to ensure delivery of plan and maintain revised forecasts in system tools
• Communicate key issues and action plans to manager and cross-functional team on a weekly basis

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study:   Business related discipline (e.g. Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Finance, Statistics, Quantitative Business Analysis) or related experience.
• Years of Experience: No previous experience required
• Technical Competencies: Proficient knowledge of PC, particularly Excel, business reporting tools, and database applications
• Skills and Ability:
  • Statistical-based analytical abilities
  • Basic knowledge of just-in-time inventory management / replenishment processes, preferably in the retail sector
