Overview
We are looking for an innovative, dynamic, and experienced leader with a demonstrated track record for leading a high-performing sales organization. The VP, Public Sector will lead the organization’s sales activities and operations in the US Federal Government, State & Local Government, and Higher Education sectors. Development and oversight for the execution of quarterly, annual, and multi-year strategic plans designed to grow and scale the Public Sector while remaining aligned with the company’s strategic, financial, and operational objectives is a key responsibility. This position will work closely with the Sr. Vice President as well as the Retention, Acquisition, and Lines of Business Leadership Teams across markets to align on strategy, retention concepts, national B2B business principles, and navigate key relationships.
The VP of Public will own the profitability within their functional group (approximately $500M), build strategy, and plan for organic growth opportunities within that book of business. This role will lead a large, complex, and multi-layered sales team consisting of Directors, Sales Reps, and Service Consultants as well as act as a liaison in all aspects of the cross-channel coordination. This position is ultimately responsible for owning top-line sales, gross margin, and profit for the Public Sector of the Sales Team.
Directly manage a dedicated Public Sector Sales Team plus associated resources focused on driving performance, meeting goals/objectives, and effectively implementing and monitoring personnel programs such as compensation, performance appraisals, and professional development. Assist in the development, design, and execution of highly effective selling programs. Maintain a high level of morale and proficiency among all team members.
Create a long-term vision and plan that aligns the SVP Public Sector’s Goals and organizations' strategies, initiatives, and goals with the overall Company Division’s vision and strategy.
Create B2B strategic initiatives within their portfolio of business that provide sustainable and profitable growth for the Company Division business.
Develop a unified joint vision and plan in conjunction with other business units (Adjacencies) to achieve alignment in achieving Company Division business objectives.
Work collaboratively across all corporate functional departments including marketing, sales, finance, human resources, information technology, and supply chain to align the Public Sector strategic business plans with corporate strategies.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
