Overview

The Sr. Manager, Marketing Research will be responsible for fielding, analyzing, and reporting research on emerging trends and best practices across brand, industry, customer and lines of business.  In partnership with the agency of record, identify 3rd party vendors to perform research and deliver strategic, actionable insights while supporting our business strategies.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-wide research framework to support the organization and identify opportunities across brand, industry, customer and lines of business.
    • Field, analyze, and package research on emerging trends and best practices across brand, industry, customer and line of business.
    • In partnership with the agency of record, identify 3rd party vendors to perform research and deliver strategic, actionable insights while supporting our low-cost business model.
    • Prepare research on priority customer segments to provide insights and opportunities across Office Depot's business.
    • Communicate insights and implications to audiences at all levels of the company
    • Innovate on existing programs, methodologies and data sources

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelors Degree
    • Area of Study: Statistics, Marketing, Psychology
  • Years of Experience: 6-7 years   
    • Type of Experience: Research
  • Technical Competencies:
    • Familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Snowflake, Google Analytics and Cognos.
    • Comfortable programming research surveys
  • Skills and Ability:
    • Experienced in designing and leading an array of methodology insights/strategy research projects including different methods of quantitative and qualitative research
    • Experience analyzing first and secondary data sources, to provide answers to business questions
    • Ability to perform macro trend analysis to inform market opportunities
    • Strategic thinker who can understand insights and turn them into actionable implications for a business or marketing strategy
    • Strong collaborator who builds internal networks and is seen as a leader across multiple levels of the organization
    • Ability to translate questions about the business into tangible research methodologies and objectives
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong curiosity to learn more about the market and customers
    • Confident in standing behind the conclusions drawn from research
    • Passionate about creating great customer experiences
